The second annual Capital One Hometown Tourist Scavenger Hunt!
 
Rules for the scavenger hunt follows:
 
  1. Participants must pick up a "passport" from the first attraction they visit and get it punched by a staff member at that attraction. This same passport must be punched by the remaining four attractions. The punches will be unique to each attraction.
  2. Participants must visit attractions during their hours of operation, which will be posted along with the clues each day.
  3. Participants may visit the attractions in any order with one exception: Friday.s clue MUST be the last stop and final punch on the passport. The first person to at Friday.s attraction with all five punches will be the winner. A bureau staff person will be on hand to verify.
  4. The scavenger hunt will end on Saturday, May 17, at 3 p.m., though there could be a winner as early as Friday morning after 10 a.m.
  5. Should there not be a winner by noon on Saturday, May 17, additional hints will be available at http://www.shreveport-bossier.org/scavengerhunt where all the clues are released.
  6. The winner will be asked to be present for a brief ceremony on 10 a.m., Monday, May 19 at the designated Capital One branch location for a presentation of the prize money.
  7. The following are ineligible to participate: Shreveport-Bossier Convention & Tourist Bureau employees and their families, employees of participating attractions and their families, employees of Cumulus Radio and their families, employees KTAL News Channel 6 and their families, employees of The Times of Shreveport and their families, employees of Capital One and their families.

All of the clues can be found mornings at 10 on the tourist bureau Web site and from media friends. Get a passport at the site on the first day, get it punched then and there -- you're on the way!

The first person to bring a passport to the last site, complete with all punches, will have gotten it right. Get ready to have a great time and discover some attractions right here that aren't under cover.

Monday's Clue

If you like to imagine someone you.re not then this it the place that will give you that shot.
Project your future by refining a trade and watch the lights in the room start to fade.
You can never imagine the effects you will see while seizing upon this fine opportunity.
Enjoy a repast with your friend or your mentor while gazing at stars at this celebrated center.

Tuesday's Clue

Race east on the eighty to a jungle of sorts where two infamous killers of old still cavort.
The Duke will greet you and you.ll feel right at home while objects of wood have since turned to stone.
If the call of nature beckons while there, take your seat in a house that has precarious flair.
Come one, come all, take a trip down the track. The adventure awaits those who can find this attract.

Wednesday's Clue

Wildflowers inhabit beautiful fields . an odd clue, it.s true.but see what it yields,
Enjoy the quiet though there.s bustling around what you will find in this part of town
Learning.s encouraged but you must have your sight to appreciate what.s hung at eye height.
Can you speak French? You might have an advantage, you might have an edge.

Thursday's Clue

Head North to a site where the drink is quite common, essential for health and enjoyed by lawmen.
A landmark of sorts, a real engineer.s dream and the most perfect of places to let off some steam.
To discover this post you must traverse a bog preserved in history and with many a cog.
Yesteryear it supplied and many took sup but now its antique and not powered up.

Friday's Clue

Through the country you.ll stroll while first passing a fleet, go west where the air is fragrantly sweet.
Take a quiet repose, read a book, or lay down a prayer, let your soul find peace while wandering there.
If bird watching is a special treat that you seek, take your spyglasses with you to have a grand peek.
If you get the two thousand, you.ll need only eight more to buy something special for the one you adore.

Attention Players: Keep your passports!!

Due to discrepancies in today's clue, the information has been voided and the 2008 CapitalOne Hometown Scavenger Hunt will continue.

The Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau will release a final clue at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 17 to replace the clue released Friday morning.

Participants must keep their passports to continue on the hunt for the $2,000 cash prize. If however, they have discarded their passport, participants may simply obtain another passport and get all the attractions stamped.

Saturday's clue will be released via the tourist bureau's website at www.shreveport-bossier.org and via its media partners . Mix 97.3 and KRMD Country 101.1 and on all Cumulus Radio Station websites (KMJJ 99.7, KRMD Country 101.1, Magic 102.9, Mix 97.3, Super Talk 1340), KTAL. The News Station and its website at http://arklatexhomepage.com and on The Times of Shreveport's website at www.shreveporttimes.com.
